Screw this stu­pid copy­right crap. No need to be bound all those dumb legal­i­ties. So, as of Novem­ber 12, 2009 at 3:23 PM CST, all con­tent on the Round Blog web­site is now licensed under the United States Attribution-​​Share Alike Cre­ative Com­mons License. Woot!!! You know what this means?; that I rock!!! Alright, so please let me explain what this change means. Now instead of the con­tent of this web­site being pro­pri­etary, you are free to copy the con­tent from it willy-​​nilly but you have to attribute either me (Owen Kue­merle) or the Round Blog web­site with what you took off of this site. You also (I know, there’s more) must license you work under the same or sim­i­lar license as the Attribution-​​Share Alike 3.0 United States License. You may think it sucks ass, but it’s def­i­nitely bet­ter than a copyright.

You might ask: “Why not make your web­site con­tent pub­lic domain?” WTF?!? Are you stu­pid? Why the hell would I do that? Well for one or more of the fol­low­ing reasons:

  1. You suck and can­not be trusted
  2. Open source is basi­cally awe­some even for blogs
  3. My work is so good that I want you to credit me
  4. I have little/​no sense of self-​​worth
  5. I need a con­fi­dence booster
  6. It makes me feel like I am on top of the world, hump­ing it from above
  7. Copy­rights suck and are not needed for my blog
  8. This makes it eas­ier on me because you don’t have to con­tact me to use some­thing from my website
  9. So I can keep this list going on
  10. And finally, because I spend too much time look­ing at open source licenses and I find that they turn me on

So, for exam­ple, say you wanted to use my pic­ture of my PB&J sand­wich in your school news­pa­per because a six slice PB&J sand­wich is just that awe­some. You just stick that pic­ture in there, give me credit either to my name or to Round Blog, and you make that arti­cle fall under the United States Attribution-​​Share Alike Cre­ative Com­mons License. Awe­some! Now part/​all of the news­pa­per is open source. Com­plete win!
