Screw this stupid copyright crap. No need to be bound all those dumb legalities. So, as of November 12, 2009 at 3:23 PM CST, all content on the Round Blog website is now licensed under the United States Attribution-Share Alike Creative Commons License. Woot!!! You know what this means?; that I rock!!! Alright, so please let me explain what this change means. Now instead of the content of this website being proprietary, you are free to copy the content from it willy-nilly but you have to attribute either me (Owen Kuemerle) or the Round Blog website with what you took off of this site. You also (I know, there’s more) must license you work under the same or similar license as the Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 United States License. You may think it sucks ass, but it’s definitely better than a copyright.

You might ask: “Why not make your website content public domain?” WTF?!? Are you stupid? Why the hell would I do that? Well for one or more of the following reasons:

  1. You suck and cannot be trusted
  2. Open source is basically awesome even for blogs
  3. My work is so good that I want you to credit me
  4. I have little/no sense of self-worth
  5. I need a confidence booster
  6. It makes me feel like I am on top of the world, humping it from above
  7. Copyrights suck and are not needed for my blog
  8. This makes it easier on me because you don’t have to contact me to use something from my website
  9. So I can keep this list going on
  10. And finally, because I spend too much time looking at open source licenses and I find that they turn me on

So, for example, say you wanted to use my picture of my PB&J sandwich in your school newspaper because a six slice PB&J sandwich is just that awesome. You just stick that picture in there, give me credit either to my name or to Round Blog, and you make that article fall under the United States Attribution-Share Alike Creative Commons License. Awesome! Now part/all of the newspaper is open source. Complete win! If you don’t completely understand this license or why I am so awesome because I did this, just leave a comment below and I just might respond. And then I found five dollars.
