Some Things I’ve Noticed In College…

OK, so I’ve been here for, like, a month I guess and I would like to point out some things that are dif­fer­ent in col­lege than in reg­u­lar high school or grade school life. I’ll list them with num­bers so you kid­dies can keep track of how many things I’ve listed. Alright, here it goes (and keep your grubby hands off of this):

  1. On week nights, I usu­ally stay up until 12–1 AM whereas in high school I would go to bed at around 10–10:30. I guess it’s partly becuase my mom isn’t yelling at me to go to bed. The other part is that none of my classes start at 7:15 in the morn­ing. I can afford to stay up later becuase most of my classes start at, like, 8:45 and 10:45 so I can use those delayed class times to sleep in an extra hour or two, or three. The week­ends usu­ally include sleep time at 2–3 AM. On the com­puter more.
  2. I get to eat a real break­fast. Back in high school, I got up so early to get ready and drive to school that I really didn’t have time to eat a good break­fast. Not so here in col­lege. I can get break­fast from, I think it’s 7–10:30 so I usu­ally go half an hour before my More >

Things that piss me off… a lot. Part I

OK, so this is actu­ally the first real post I’ve ever made, so be nice. Things that piss me off… a lot. At the top of this list is peo­ple who post pic­tures on social net­work­ing web sites (Face­book, Porn­Space [I have it from a good source this is true], etc…) that con­tain ref­er­ences to alco­hol when the par­tic­i­pat­ing par­ties are under the age of 21. If CBS didn’t cen­sor Dr. Phil, I’m sure he would say (his famous line, uncen­sored): WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING?!?!?! (With the expla­na­tion and ques­tion marks) There are sev­eral rea­sons why these types of pic­tures piss me off.

  1. There is an inti­mate pos­si­bil­ity that an employer will come across this pic­ture and not hire you. Let me give you a word of advice my beer picture-posting friends (just a fig­ure of speech. I don’t actu­ally have any): employ­ers want some­one who is a well-rounded per­son, some­one who can com­mu­ni­cate well, some­one who is a good leader, some­one who can work well in a group set­ting, some­one who makes good choices, and most impor­tantly; some­one they can trust.
